Monday Morning Class at Stoke Bridge
A morning pottery session to have a go on the wheel or hand build.
Course or Class Details
A 2.5 hour session to do pottery. Beginners and intermediate both hand building and on the wheel. There are currently 3 wheels and plenty of space for hand building. Hand building could include slab, coil or pinch pots. Simple projects will be suggested as an introduction to the different making techniques. Throwing something on the wheel is not a quick or easy task. It usually take about 3 or 4 months of practice to get good at just the centring never mind anything else so keep your expectations real, but be ready to be surprised. Format for the sessions will be to introduce a hand building technique first and then to do a focused activity for those who want to on the wheel. I will then float between the rooms. You can come with ideas of things you would like to have a go at making, the feasibility of which will be assessed on the day! There will be a materials charge of £5 a kilo for fired work.
