Suffolk Landscape Mug-Winter

These mugs have been a long time in development. Careful consideration and much feedback has been involved in producing something that is both functional and beautiful. A functional piece of art.
 
Winter- The ever shortening days where the sun barely rises above the horizon. Lengthening shadows and frosty mornings make for a stark but bare beauty at this time of year. Trees stripped back to their skeletal branches, their shaes merely suggested. With snowfall comes that sound deadening banket that makes the child in each of leap for joy at the prospect of snow day. Getting cold to the bone and warming up with a hot chocolate.
 
These mugs have been hand made by Karl. They are decorated with coloured clay slips, carefully mixed to reflect each season. They are lined with a white durable glaze and have a transparent glaze over most of the rest of the surface. The coloured parts have been deliberately left unglazed to give a contrast in texture as well as to preserve the sharpness of the marks and colours of the slip decoration. This is still a very durable surface. 
 
They can be used in the dishwasher and microwave.
