Naked Raku bottle

These naked Raku vases have been made with a white stoneware clay which has been burnished (polished) to make a surface that will best show the black and white contrast after they are smoked. Naked Raku has a slip and a glaze applied that then falls off as part of the process leaving the pot naked. 
These pots are still porous but can be sealed on the inside using varnish. I would not recommend varnishing the outside as this could change the look and character of the pot.
