Raku cover pot (22126)
There are three raku cover pots( decorative pot to cover or hide a plastic or unsightly one) that were created as experiments for an order. The surface of these pots were created while they were still on the wheel. They were covered with sodium silicate, dried and then thrown only from the inside. They were then raku fired with copper glazes and placed in dry sawdust post firing. This has produced the metallic effect you can see appearing in the cracks on the surface further enhancing the over all surface effect.
Looking after your pot-It should only be hand washed if needed and left to dry. It will not hold water so will be best used with a scucculent or cactus. It will be fine to use with other plants but remove the plant to water it and drain it before putting it back in the raku pot again. It should never be used to drink out. It should never be used in a microwave.
